This hotel is a hidden gem in a quiet residential neighborhood. The attention to detail in the rooms is impressive, with stylish English Country chic decor and modern amenities. The staff is friendly and helpful, providing excellent service throughout our stay. The location is perfect, just a short drive away from the main downtown area and the bustling harbor.

All was perfectly fine, no room for improvement necessary.

I like to say the location. Not far from Center of the city of Victoria, few minute away by car. you can enjoying quiet atmosphere- only birds singing awake you in the morning.

This old building have no sound proof.

The garden was a pleasant surprise, and we would happily recommend this place for a longer stay.

A family member had booked the Inn for a Christmas staff party and the Inn staff seemed to go out of theior way to create the ambiance which was desired. The fireplaces offered so much warmth and the entire decore was that of an old English setting which was very much appreciated by the entire group of party goers. As a mature couple it was good to be able to park near to the entrance and we appreciated the coffee in the lobby in the mornings.

I've been coming to this inn for 30 years. I like the bit of modernization that the new owners have done. Everything about the inn appeals to me. A priority is the peace and quiet and the green surroundings. Second is the character of the rooms. Third is the convenience to downtown. If you keep up the quality and the affordablilty, I will make the English Inn and Resort my usual place to stay when making trips to Victoria. Thank you. Had a delightful stay. Sandy McCartie

The hotel had a great location, very close to the main attractions of the city, which was very convenient for the New Year's Eve celebration. the room was spacious and clean, with a cozy atmosphere that made us feel at home.

Some parts of the hotel were quite outdated and could use some renovation work. the continental breakfast was limited, with not many options to choose from.

We loved entering this castle like setting and being treated so royally from the moment we arrived. I had booked this on line weeks ago and then was concerned that I had picked the smallest room. On arriving we had already been given a free up grade which we loved. Being a person who is unable to eat any wheat products, I so enjoyed yogurt being included in breakfast. It was a quiet, peaceful and beautiful setting and would not hesitate to recommend it to people. It is far from the inner harbor but oh well you can't have everything. Overall - excellent experience.

Located in a quieter area outside of downtown, with beautiful grounds and gardens to explore. the hotel provides a continental breakfast to enjoy before heading out to visit the attractions found in Victoria and the surrounding areas. the staff is friendly and accommodating to guests' needs.

The noise level within the establishment can be disruptive to those trying to sleep.

Only 1 chair in room, noise from walking in room above, light from window between hallway and our room shines directly on your face while in bed!!

I have no idea that the location of English Inn takes 5 - 7 min. from downtown in Victoria by car, so I took a taxi. But Fleming beach where is down 2 blocks from B&B is awesome! You can see the great view in 10 min. walk. No restaurant and dining dining room in English Inn. so it is better to have dinner in downtown in Victoria. Although I know it is B&B, I totally have forgotten about it... Don't worry that there is a restaurant near the hotel.

The hotel had a comfortable and elegant atmosphere, with stunning architecture and a lovely dining room, sitting area, and bar, all with fireplaces. The breakfast was well done and exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly, helpful, efficient, and well dressed. The hotel grounds were large and well organized, with beautifully landscaped areas and a more woodsy feel. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, providing a peaceful and relaxing environment.

Hard to think of anything.

The decor was excellent, with a very old English feel but with a bit of bling. Room was large with some period furniture to add to the theme. Gardens were large and well maintained. It was a lovely quiet retreat.

The continental breakfeast was the smallest I have had. Yoghurt, tea, croissant and an apple. No butter or jams. No toast, No cereal. The room we had didn't have air conditioning so we had to leave the windows open which did not have screens. Fortunately there were no problems with insects at this time but it meant the curtains were also open and the sun came in early. We were on the third floor and the last stair case is very narrow and steep. Be prepared to either take a small bag of what you need or specify a lower floor room.
